Problems with FOMM

First time out of the vault
Hi,

I'm using the latest Fallout Mod Manager from Nexus - which is supposed to work with both Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

However, it doesn't appear to be working (for me). I've got all the latest official patches/updates and I'm using the latest version of FOSE. I add the mods 'as per normal' (like with Fallout 3), but nothing happens - none of the mods are working or activated.
For example, I added 'Better Binoculars'. So, now, I have the following folders WITHIN the (main) Data folder - Binocular Shape, Optional Zoom Levels AND a a Data folder which contains Meshes/Textures and a 'Better Binoculars High.esp'. And within that Meshes folder there is another folder called 'Better Binoculars, etc. Is this right?
Also, the mods I have 'installed' using FOMM's Package Manager do not appear with the main FOMM window - ie, are not listed. Which does not sound right to me.
Any idea what the problem is?
Thanks,
DANNY

I suppose Better Binoculars have different folders for different flavors of the mod. I usually make several omods of the same mod when I'm faced with similar problems.
Look through all the different folders of the mod (Binocular Shape, Optional Zoom Levels) and select whatever flavor of the mod that you want, then copy those Meshes/Textures + Better Binoculars .esp to a temporary folder. Make a omod of that temporary folder and it should install properly. Of course the proper (FOMM) way would be to make a omod script that allows you to select which flavor of binocular shape or Zoom level you want.

Edit: All mods that you want to use have to have their .esp (or .esm) directly in (main) Data folder and any Meshes/Textures must go into (main) Data\Meshes\ and (main) Data\Textures\

Hi Dusty,

Well, that seems to be the problem - FOMM isn't putting any of Mods own .esp/.esm's files into the (main) Data folder. So, for instance, with Better Binoculars, all its esp/ems are scattered within the various Optional Zoom Levels, Binocular Shape and (non-main) Data folders. Any idea why FOMM isn't working for me?

Thanks,
DANNY
