Problems with the Den, please help

Hello,

I've been playing this game for years and have never had any problems untill using this pc, with XP.

I am having all sorts of problems with the den. At first all the doors would close and i'd come in at the main entrance if i left to another part of the city, or the world map, i just found this odd. Then i discovered if i saved a game in the Den then exited to windows, i'd return and find that my save would have an error and not load. I got around this by saving outside the city. Now, after working in Vault City I am unable to enter the Den.

If I attempt to enter i will get the black screen with the loading symbol, then it will crash. I get a message saying a breakpoint has been reached.

I have no idea what to do, i've patched and patched uninstalled, reinstalled, tried different compatibility settings and tried different install sizes. Nothing will fix my problems with the den.

If anyone can help, it would be wonderful.

I dont follow.....

I've tried searching and read a bunch of posts with similar problems, and tried many fixes but i dont unserstand what you are getting at....
 
man, you are my savior. That little truck with replacing the .sav with the .map of the den did the trick. It's funny tho, because it resets everyhting in that side of the den, Tubby and Flick are still alive...and i killed them.

That was the point - reverting the map to the original state.

All in a day's work.
