Golden Brown
First time out of the vault
Hey all,
Hopefully, this is the right forum for this. If not, I'm sure one of the friendly mods will point me in the right direction.
Let's be blunt...I'm a programmer and I need experience making games. I don't know a lot of people who actually do this and every experience I've had working with people over the internet has been dissapointing to say the least.
With that said, I'm willing to give it another go.
A little bit about me: I hold degrees in computer science and in sociology. My dream has always been to make games. And after I played Fallout, the only place I ever really wanted to work was at Black Isle. But that's far and gone and there's nothing that any of us can do about it. So, the next best thing is to do it ourselves and to make games that are even better. That's right, I said it...better than Fallout. So, in order to do that, I quit my job a long time ago and went to Digipen. I failed out after a year. That shouldn't be a surprise since when I initially went there I knew nothing. I didn't know how use to Windows, I didn't know how to open a file and I didn't know how to write one line of code. This was in 1999. Since then, I've worked as a professional programmer actually making games. Those games I made were for Sesame Street. They were for children and they were lame. Sesame Street dissolved the interactive department in 2001 and with it went my free ride. Then the terrorist gay-wods destroyed the World Trade Center in New York and I was unable to find work in any capacity, let alone computer programming. At the time I held no degree in computer anything and was only getting by on my moxy. So, after the smoked settled I moved back in with my parents and went back to school to earn my degree in computer science.
And that time is over. I've completed my degree and I've got the confidence and the knowledge to do whatever I want. The only problem is the companies want nothing to do with me because my only experience is with children's games and I've got no demo. Not only that, but I've managed to get myself married and now I've got a wife who wants someone to bring home the bacon, so to speak.
So, with that said, I want to team up with somebody and to make a game demo, or a complete game.
Here's what I need from someone:
I need a leader. I've got ideas and I've got skills, but I need someone with the vision and the cajoenes to organize things. What tools will we be using? What language will we be working in? Who is on the team? I don't need somebody who has no idea what they want or people who want to make another Fallout derivative. Let's shoot for the moon because we have nothing to lose.
I need to work with people who are reliable. That means that if you want to work on something, you'll be there a year from now, you'll be there a month from now, and that you're willing to put your soul into the work.
If anybody can do this, if anybody has something already going on like this, I want to hear from you. I want in, and you will not be disappointed. Let me put my education and my experience to work for you. I know I may come off sounding a little bit stuck up, but I'm not. I'm just ready to start some real work and ready to make not mine, but YOUR dreams come true as well.
Don't pass up this chance to put a dedicated programmer to work for you. I've nothing to lose and I will put everything I have into any project I think has a chance to succeed.
Wanna see my resume? Wanna communicate with me? No problem. Contact me at sloppygoat@hotmail.com and if I think you're serious, I'll be back in touch with you at my real email address and phone number. That's right, it's for real.
Long live No Mutants Allowed and good luck to all.
