putting fallout 2 on a usb stick/removable disk?

First time out of the vault
i have a little usb stick that i can just bring with me at school, i tried putting fallout 2 on it just to have something to do with my spare time but i got a message having to do with some master datafile and it wouldnt start up. could someone help me? id really like to have it when im at school :D

Nope, it works perfectly. Simply edit the config/ini file (I forget which one) to point the game at the new location and it will work fine,
 
It's interesting that you had a problem with this. For me I just had to copy and paste my Fallout 2 folder to my USB drive.
 
It's totally possible, I did the same exact thing all the time back in the day. Follow the instructions for a humongous installation from here: http://www.nma-fallout.com/article.php?id=1593
The install will be faster if you copy the files to your computer first, then put it on the usb stick when you're done.
