Carsten informed me that Damien 'Puuk' Foletto is going to Electronic Art to work on the upcoming Lord Of The Rings RTS, here's what Carsten posted on the Silver Style forums:
Sad day for Silver Style... Damien told me that he will accept an offer from Electronic Arts. He will work on their upcoming Lord of the Rings RTS.

It was a pleasure to work with Damien. We totally understand this decision, because working on a LOR product is a chance that may come only once a live time. Congrats to EA, they get a really great designer and a fine guy as a colleague.

You don't need to worry about TF. We were prepared that something like that can happen and Damien worked very fast and was always on time with his tasks. So we don't get a serious problem regarding our working plans.
So Puuk, going to the devil eh ?

Duh, my name is Damien  :P

In all seriousness, I got a great offer and it really is a great project. I'll always prefer CRPG's, but I've got a family and house to support, so I go where opportunity takes me. And you should see the perks around here - oy!

Yeah I know, just teasing you a bit... And remember to send some of those "perks" to us :P

Eww.

EA.

Gotta pay the bills, I understand, but EA?

And those wankers just shut down Origin - Austin. Home to Ultima and Ultima Online.

What a bunch of wankers.

Anywho, good luck, Puuk!

COngratulations.

On EA:
EA isn't that bad. They've made some great games recenlty, well, EA Big has anyway. The only bad thing about them is their consistent milking of franchises.

EA are terrible. They have no respect for ANYTHING other than money. I would love to see them burnt to the ground. I believe I hate them more than ineptplay, and that's saying something.

wow I didn’t know EA's logo is just like SSE's  , those damn thieves

I'll have to find the Electronic Asshats pic I made a while back after EA fucked up Origin (and later basically did the same to Bullfrog) and make an avatar out of it.

Just kidding. :)

I fully expect the ribbing. I know a lot of CRPG'ers are not fond of EA, so I won't wave the company flag around you guys. But I'm still a CRPG fan, in particular PA, so you'll see me lurking around here for some time to come. Hell, NMA is usually my first stop in the morning when I get to my desk (takes a while to get in the working groove - you know how it is, right?).

You know, Puukster, you could lead some of those innocent EA NMA virgins here.

We promise we'll be nice.

Put up a temp rank, didn't bother to find a better one.. send one to me Puuk and I'll fix it..

No worries, that'll work. The RTS division is part of EA Games, so it works fine.

Hmm, maybe we're looking at this the wrong way. Maybe Puuk is exactly what EA needs in order to restore confidence in fans with kick ass games!
We've got ourselves a believer, read the bible too many times have we ?

Peddling stones at the might EA won't do..

While I do think EA could certainly tone it down on the licence milking, I liked Sim City and the Sims (EA owns maxis) so I don't think their too bad. EA actually keeps maxis around because of the kick ass games they make, unlike Interplay and BIS.

Your crazy, Interplay is a bunch of Nazis.
(BTW, that’s a great name for Ineptplay!)

I haven't forgiven them for the way they treated the ultima series, and how they continue to treat it with ultima X. They are a terrible company who have billions of dollars in profit yet won't fund a single innovative game, instead making Sims expansions and charging people to use multiplayer in games such as need for speed. I hate them.
