Quest Timers

First time out of the vault
Ive done a few searches and come up with nothing, or ive missed the obvious.

Id like to just roam around killing things and doing the quests on my own time and not be bugged by timers and Visions telling my tribe is dieing.

Can I pause these so noone dies?

A Bit heartless I know, but id like to enjoy my game a little more.

Hopefully someone will point me in the right direction if ive missed somthing.

As long as you've done all the Arroyo quests when you head out, you miss nothing. Just mind the 13-year limit.
 
It's actually worth taking your time at least once through the game – you won't get to see all the dream/vision sequences if you do things too quickly.
 
Thanks, I'm probably gonna be starting FO1 again, anyting to kill the water timer so i can go wandering? I know that there is a water supply truch quest, but I remmebr that mutants use it to find the vault. Is there another way?

If you've patched to 1.1 the second time limit is removed. So you can safely hire the Water Merchants and not worry about it.
