Question About Quest Rewards

TheCrux

First time out of the vault
Started the original Fallout after playing Fallout III.

Took awhile to get used to the graphics (my how far games have come), but it is going well.

The question is quite basic, after rescuing Tandi in the beginning of the game, I went to her father and received a reward.

The problem is, how do I tell what the reward I received is? I mean other than comparing what you have now versus before quest turn-in.

Maybe there isn't a way to tell. But seems as though there should be.

Another question, when you pull up a screen, like inventory, is there a way to close the window without moving the mouse to click the cancel button?

BTW, I, unlike many others, truly enjoyed Fallout III . . until the end. The main quest story was very poor. After all the work on the game, to have such a defect seems quite odd. I mean, who signed off on that story? The plot makes so little sense (plus the last battle should have been far, far, more involved, I saved all my heavy weapon ammo for that? What a disappointment).

Maybe Bethesda should have done a little research. For instance, go to a nuclear war survivalist site and you will learn that it is relatively easy to decontaminate radioactive water using a dirt filtration method. So much for Project Purity.

Thanks and peace.

Some quest givers say "here, take this for your trouble" and then you check your inventory.

Sometimes the text box has someting to say, like "You got ####XP for betraying X, you feel a warm fuzzy feeling" or something.

i think you can close your inventory with ESC or I, not sure
*finds an excuse to run fallout again*

ESC will close inventory

Press F1 in game to get all the keyboard shortcuts. The text box in the lower left corner is your friend, put the cursor on the top part of it (until you get an UP arrow icon for your pointer) and click to scroll the text box up to see previous messages.

How far graphics have come, most games have been quite the opposite.
