Question about weapon mod (have an odd bug)

My problem...

I have a modified weapon (Hunting rifle and scoped rifle) that isn't acting how it should. Namely, there is no fire sound and it has an extra 'empty' attack.

The lack of sound is odd considering it has a sound id (71 I believe).
Now the extra attack is really getting me. I'm using FIC to edit the proto files and the primary attack is single with a range of 40 and 5 ap cost.

Second attack is 'none' with 0/0 on range and ap.
Normally the gun would just have single shot, right?
Well this gun also has a blank attack mode that costs no ap, has no range, uses no ammo and cannot actually be used.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? Any ideas how to fix it?

As a side note, the weapon uses 7.62mm ammo, however the first 3-4 rifles you find/buy are loaded with 10mm ammo instead. They still take 7.62mm if you unload/reload them though. Any idea why this is?

Problem solved! :D

Turns out it was an error with the FIC program. If you set the weapon to have only 1 attack (single/burst only) it will automatically move that attack down from slot 1 to slot 2 if it's not already there.

This causes Fallout 2 to assign a 'no use' fire mode to slot 1.

I went and grabbed FIME and tried correcting the error there, and what do you know, it worked!

So there you go. For future reference to anyone with the same problem.
