Question Relating Two Mods...

Ziomster

First time out of the vault
Hi everyone, I'm new around here, but I've checked this forum out during the past 2 years without an account, until I needed one now, but enough about me, time to stick to the thread ;D And the reason I actually started a new one was I didn't know which of the mod's threads I should ask these questions in. Also, I hope I'm posting in the righ forum/sub-forum.

Yes, I did use the search function, and spent about half an hour looking for this answer, as well as the main threads relating both of these two mods/patches, yet I didn't find my answer.

Now the question I have are:
1.) Is the vertibird v1.4 mod automatically included in the "Fallout 2 Restoration Project v1.2" mod?
2.) If not, are these two mods compatible with each other, or could anything be done to make these two compatible?

Hope I'm not violating any rules :P If this is in the wrong place, just move/delete this thread then :)

Thanks,
Ziomster!

Modding questions should go in General Modding.
The RP includes the vertibird. I don't know if it uses code from the vertibird mod or not, but it has been implemented.

Alright, thanks for thread-location verification, thank you mod who moved the thread to the proper place, and thanks for the answer to my vertibird question.

Hope I'm not being too thankful around here XD

So in other words, there is some form of Vertibird that you can fly around the whole map (not the one that takes you to Enclave) with in the RP? (from what I understood)

No. But you can use the Vertibird in Navaro to go to the Enclave oil rig, as far as I know.

Alright, got it. I'll try installing the Vertibird v1.4 after correctly installing RPv1.2, and post the results here ;)

EDIT: And the answer is no... no as in the two mods are not compatible :P I'll try out the Restoration Project v1.2 mod first though, perhaps if I have free time try the other one separately too.

Don't know if you are interested, but the Megamod has the vertbird mod the way you were looking for. Travelling the whole map... at least from town to town, exactly like in Vertibird v1.4.
Also, I'm absolutelly sure that RPv1.2 and Vertibird v1.4 aren't compatible.

EDIT: Duh, saw your "EDIT" now.

Np, and thanks for letting me know about that mod, sounds pretty interesting. How good is it when compared to the RP v1.2? Or is it just as good, just that it's different and a compilation of many mods?

Thanks once again!

Well, you see, while the RP features many of the original ideas of Fallout2 developers that didn't make it to the final game, MIB88's Megamod is a compilation of over than 20 mods, if I'm correct, so it'll give you a completely new Fallout 2 experience.

In Megamod, almost all the begining of the game is changed, mainly Arroyo and Klamath, so if you aren't being able to do something that worked before, it's probably not a bug, just try to figure out another way of doing it.

Well, as for which one is better, they are totally diferent, but equally worth.

Got it, thanks. I'm about 50% done finishing RP, and I must admit it's really awesome. And the realistic-armor look on my NPC's made it much better!

I just encountered a strange error I've never encountered before, so I'm guessing it is something RP-related? After fighting the 5 (or was it 6?) students of The Dragon, the game randomly crashes as soon as it comes to one of the student's turns. One time the game crashed at the fourth one, and the second time at the fith student.

Is there anything that can be done to prevent this, or any fix?

Thanks once again!

EDIT: Found a workaround, well... at least it worked for me xD After going through the fights a few times, with about 3 fights being crashed and trying to fight under different conditions (that is: 1) At night 2) After 12 hours of game's time)), I succeded the 4th time without any problems =D This is probably one of those random crashes...

Yeah I know how do you feel - I experienced same - something like: "Oh my God, that's awesome!". Enjoy it, because it isn't as sweet as the first time.

I've stumbled upon one more question during my gameplay ^_^

What are the requirements to hack the Hubologist Mainframe in order to discover the Hubologist Stash? I even tried with a Science skill of 106, and I couldn't hack it. Each time I just get the "[Try as you might, you can't seem to break the encryption that controls this computer.]" message, and "Log Off." as a dialogue choice.

What are the requirements to hack the Hubologist Mainframe in order to discover the Hubologist Stash? I even tried with a Science skill of 106, and I couldn't hack it. You need science above 100 to find the coordinates to the stash.
Just to hack in to the comp there is a roll vs science skill, so even with 106 there is no guarantee.
Code:
if (is_success(roll_vs_skill(dude_obj, 12, -80))) then begin
