quick critter.dat question

First time out of the vault
Oh great modders of Fallout, please be kind to this ignorant and humble question.

I am planning on running a fallout pnp campaign and wanted to use the fallout critters graphics for it. Basically, the campaign is online anyway and I a using GameTable, which supports PNG files.

So, I used a utility to extract the critter.dat and have a program to change the FRM files to PNG files. Yay, they look awesome!

One problem...all of the critters are oriented away, which means that the player characters will fight battles against enemies who will never look at them. This would be stupid.

So, my quick question: where are the files for the face side of the critters? If there isn't one, how do I rotate them?

The others are named fr*, where * is a number from 0 to 4 or something like that. If your FRM viewer won't open these you may have to rename them invididually.

Hi,

First, thanks so much for your reply.

Do you know of an FRM viewer/converter that can see the rotated views. Also, it seems like only a few (maybe 25) of the files extracted from critter.dat have the number suffix. Does renaming the files with a number at the end effectively change its orientation?

Thanks

Try Frame Animator. It can switch between all views.

Here is a link to the appropriate download section where you can find Frame animator.
