Quirky video playlist software question

I'm helping put on a convention as I have done for the past 6 years now and I figured this year it would be great if I could have just two playlists and have the main playlist draw randomly from the second playlist after each video.

However I am having a very hard time finding any software anywhere close to doing this and I -REALLY- don't have the time or will to make something like that in flash if I can heartily avoid it at this time.

Does anyone here know of any software out in the wild wild web that can do that, as I have grilled google and haven't found much of anything yet...
 
Alright even if it takes scripting and requires some programming knowledge I'll still live with it, but I am really hoping someone out there has some idea of what might work...

Ah well we'll see what time brings.
