Think it would be a good idea to allow people to pick Ghoul, Mutuant, or Deathclaw? You probably hear this song and dance before but the fact is that it would limit the game or make it seem wierd. I mean I doubt it would fit into the story but what do you guys think?

Mecha? MECHA!
Will we be able to get robotic suits of battle armor kind of like Frank's with weapons built in and such? Will it make a good idea? Will it feel like a Gundam rip-off?

Sleeping!!!
I would think a sleeping man would be a great target for someone who needs quick cash so do you think you will have to find a safe place to sleep?

Becoming Addicted after one hit!
I know jet was made with 100% addiction rate but what about radaway after one use getting addicted does anyone else think the addiction for such things should be cut down?

Crippled limbs? DOCTORING?
Okay in F2 you can heal a damaged eye with your bare hands and decent doctor skill. Think in F3 we should require doctor bags such as in FT:BOS? Think people should be able to lose limbs forever? I think that would make a cool grizzly character.

Clothing?
What about casual clothing that isn't armor? That lets you make a cool character like in daggerfall!

Realistic damage?
I for one think it would suck. If anyone else can put it in a good light go ahead.

Race
I'm against this. One of the things is that it'll be a bitch to balance. You must make it balanced so that a level 1 human has the same chance as a level 1 ghoul or supermutant. Besides that, you got to be able to wriggle it into the storyline. Multiple starting points will probably mean a lot of scripting and different storylines. One place where all the races live together is a bit un-Falloutish.

Mechs
It would be a ripp off, big time.

Sleeping
I agree with that. It could be that you got interupted when you sleep by a band of robbers unless you found a safehouse.

Addiction
Don't care one way or the other.

Doctor
Agreed. It seems weird to be able to heal a crippled limb with no equipment. Allthough i don't agree with people loosing legs permanently. Not when the explanation is 'it would make a cool grizzly character'.

Clothing
Well, ok, but how much of the game will you be running around without armor. It was implemented in Arcanum and it looked good but it was only a few times that you did need to put on other clothes then armor.

Realistic damage
In short, NO.

One BAD idea I found was the smoking jacket (by itself).

Here's an easily-available item, cheap of cost, near the beginning of the game, that allows male characters of medium and small stature a +20 reaction. If you think about it, that is a shitload, really. I think it was a remains of a hoped-for feature of Arcanum, in dressing onesself up to rub elbows with the rich or to impress some bumpkins, or whatever. For some reason, it seems to have gotten ditched, and the remains like the cologne, etc. are still around. Might be something to ask Tim one of these days, if it hasn't already been addressed.

I do agree that more clothing could be done, in a layering effect like in Diablo 2 and that some MMORPGs use (UO). This way, it would be quite helpful for disguise (killing someone out of sight of everyone else and putting on their robe - as long as you didn't talk to anyone or otherwise became noticed, great), fitting in with the locals (instead of looking like a combatant or a storm trooper - can look like a nonthreatening fellow to get a better reaction from the commonfolk), and much more.

Clothing could be worked into a more interesting setting environment. In a MUD I once coded for, I did perhaps one of the first-ever implementations of a real honest-to-goodness stealth skill that made sense. If you wore clothing that fit into the surroundings as far as color and shading, then your ability to fit into the surroundings is greatly enhanced. On the contrary, if you are wearing a forest-green outfit and in a city, then you'll likely be noticed against a building or on a rooftop. Or even an arctic-tinted outfit as well.

I don't recall that method being implemented into a commercial graphical game, so it might be something of note.

What about just power armor with in built weapon systems ... like Frank's.

But, you need to lose an eye before you can look cool!

Have you ever played daggerfall? If your character is a warrior he could drape over a robe to hide his armor(Robe and power armor would look wicked I reckon) but if my charrie is a scientist I'd like something he could run around in with out the damn wieght.
