Radiated areas

I would like a mod which made more areas in FO2 radioactive, as this is something I think is missing from the game that should have been implemented. As it is, it seems there is almost no use for radiation chems except as a form of money. It would be neat if you needed a lot of them to hang around Gecko, the toxic caves, maybe some areas of Redding having to do with uranium mining and refining, maybe the areas where the "aliens" are like Wannamingo Mine and the lower level of the tanker, wilderness areas where you encounter elements of the Master's army or aliens.....would be neat to have a reason to pop some Rad-X's and Radaways once in a while, and use the Geiger Counters.
 
hmmm that would be nice indeed. Would such mod be hard to make ?

I think the world map should be harder like the only way to travel "save" the wasthes would be the caravan routes. coz that route would have a low radiation level. it would be also a nice to introduce a new armor that has al high radiation treshold. But it should be hard to get.

to prevent to get power armor to quick make the radiation around san fransico and enclave high enough that it would kill you. So you need the armor it reach those 2 locations.

fallout 2: survival mod wasnt there such mod being in development ?

Okay so make certain locations more radioactive BUT get rid of them goddamn Toxic/gecko waste sites, their so annoying! I run into them constantly, and seen as I never feel the need to carry anti radiation chems I bloody die, then have to spend ages using Falche2 to cheat so I can survive.

Isn't that the point of what chuft wants to do, add more areas like the toxic caves, where radx and radaway become essential items in your inventory?
 
I'd prefer not to have them at random encounters. That would mean taking anti-rads just to travel safely :(. And I thought the Power Armors resisted rads already? Or at least fend rads off to a certain extent (concluding from Holodisks from the Glow).

Strange, I never run into them. In six or seven games of FO2 I think I found the toxic waste dump once.

Do you have to be lucky, or unlucky, in terms of the Luck stat to find this "special encounter" I wonder?
 
I think you encounter them a lot if your luck is very low, which is a bad idea in Fallout anyway.
