Radscorpion, it's what's for dinner

From CNN via BBoing, it's a Thanksgiving Day treat. Scorpions larger than a hoo-man. It's cheating a bit, since they lived underwater.

The ancient sea scorpion, at 2.5 meters (8 feet) in length, was bigger than the average man is tall.

British scientists have stumbled across a fossilized claw, part of an ancient sea scorpion, that is of such large proportion it would make the entire creature the biggest bug ever.

How big? Bigger than you, and at 8 feet long as big as some Smart cars.

The discovery in 390-million-year-old rocks suggests that spiders, insects, crabs and similar creatures were far larger in the past than previously thought, said Simon Braddy, a University of Bristol paleontologist and one of the study's three authors.

This was already posted in GD.

I'll vat the other thread and leave this one, though, as it's better placed.

I think the "real world brahmin!" and "real world centaur!" threads ended up in GD, though.

Edit: Not saying you should resurrect the other thread, it had gone stupid.

That was my first thought, but the antediluvian beasts of the deep are extinct, not real. Practically as fantastic as Radscorpions ;)

Could be treated as a "possible inpiration" thread. It's borderline, really.

My Probable Theories on the Creatures around Fallout:

Brahmin
A Cow that grew an extra head due to the Radiation caused by the Atomic Bomb.

Radscorpion
A Scorpion is a common site in the Californian Desert, Couple it with 50's Science Fiction and Radiation and you got a Giant "Bug"

Giant Ant/Cockroach
Pretty much drawn from 50's Sci-Fi Movies where in a Insect of somekind got zapped with radiation or energy causing it to grow larger.

Mantis
I don't know how a Creature this strange was suggested into a Apocalyptic World but the heck guess its probably the same theory as a Giant Insect. But a Cockroach would have been more appropiate in the Wastelands

Dog
Dogs are known Survivors so I think. They can adapt pretty well and are tough.

Robots
Sci-Fi Movies shows it all and explains how Robots became Smarter
