Raiders Base in Fallout 2 1.04

First time out of the vault
Now, I know that I only wind up if I need help but I would be, as always, grateful for any suggestions.

I play Fallout 2 for the first time with the unofficial patch 1.04 installed. Beside the corruption of the Den map everything went more or less fine. Now I can't find the raiders base. I remember where it was with the 1.02 patch installed. Seven squares south, and one square west form Vault City. But there is nothing now. Nada.

I know it is supposed to be hidden, but even if I go to the exact same spot where it SHOULD be I only find desert.

Has anyone else encountered this problem ?

hmm..

If you can't find the base you should go to New Reno and get the map that shows the location of the raider base...

I play with the official 1.02 patch and the raider base has allways been where it should for me..
 
In the 1.03 version and above the only way to find the Raider's Base is to get the map from Bishop's safe in New Reno.

The reason why the base is hidden, is that it should be much harder to find. Stark in Vault City says about him and his team having difficulties with finding the camp with the area to the south full of caves and all that. It makes sense.

Locutus, now that I have the chance to talk to you directly, I'd like to ask you about the corruption of the Den map. After entering the town for the first time, everything works fine. But if you safe inside the city, the savegame becomes corrupted. If you safe outside the city and trie to enter it the game crashes. I needed to reinstall Fallout, use the 1.02 patch to enter the city and make a savegame. AFTER that I installed your patch, loaded my savegame, re-saved it and everything worked fine from then on.

Strange. I thought you might be interested in that problem.
