I got it today and have been trying it out a bit and it looks like it's pretty good, actually. Of course, it's nowhere near as good as Raven Shield but it's still a million times better than that utter excrement Lockdown...
That is... If you don't treat it as a real tactical shooter. Leaning has been removed and replaced with the controversial third person view which works pretty well and is an interesting addition in single player but it completely rapes any semblance of realism, especially in versus multiplayer. The graphics are okay but the game is a laggy resource hog of dismal proportions previously seen only in Splinter Cell: Double Agent with which it shares another huge annoyance; that's right kiddies, no SM3.0 graphic card, no Vegas for you. And in some bigger firefights with a lot of opponents and with all manner of shit exploding and flying around the framerate grinds down to unacceptable levels.
As a shooter with tactical elements it works pretty well, the AI is good and unforgiving. The maps are huge and load relatively fast. Another controversial addition is the lack of a health bar (or the famous Rainbow Six health dot) and gimping which have been replaced with a system in which after you take a few shots the screen blurs and you have to take cover where you gradually heal. The jury is still out on that one.
In conclusion, in spite all of it's shortcomings it's still fun as hell to play, it just isn't the Rainbow Six I've grown to love.
A solid 3.5/5
