Random encounter loot

First time out of the vault
I want to travel around the wasteland and kill things in fallout tactics but doing this will quickly make you run out of ammo.

I've been playing around with the editor and it seems that random encounters don't have the items listed as being in their inventories.

I open up entities/actors/supermutants/sm_09_infhea.ent and look at his inventory there it says that he's supposed to have 120 7.62mm ammo and 0 of these should be nonlootable but when I kill one ingame he only has what is in his hands ie. a SAW and a crowbar but no ammo

Can anyone explain why this happens and if there is a fix somewhere?
 
So if I made all the random encounters carry 2000 of the chosen type of ammo I would stand a much better chance of actually finding some or does the random generator just eliminate item from being there regardless of amount?
 
Increasing the amount in the entity editor will help, also increasing their level will give them more ammo. We discussed this over at DaC a while back, if that helps.
 
ok .. just tried it out ... seems that it very rarely happens that they carry ammo at all and when they do it is quite random (tried with 2000)

DaC? can I go read your discussion there? and what/where is there?
