First time out of the vault
Hey,
I'm running Fallout 2 using the latest Killap patch and I have a couple of questions about random encounters. For a start, I have just finished Fallout 1 (which seems better than 2 right now) and I've moved on to 2 but I'm having a nightmare of a time. Basically, the encounters are killing me. By walking from The Den to Vault City I get about 7- 8 encounters that I can't escape from immediately (low outdoorsman skill) and end up attempting to run away but getting killed.
What I really meant to ask is how many encounters are you "supposed" to get. In Fallout 1 (using the TeamX patch) I would get maybe 1 or 2 encounters on a long journey such as from The Hub to The Glow. The UI for the map was fairly slow and I don't know if this was done on purpose to reduce travelling speed due to the faster computers the game now runs on.
I want to play this game on default settings but I don't know whether or not to edit the patch settings in order to reduce encounters as this could make the game easier than it is meant to be. Could anyone help me out please?
Thanks alot.
