Random encounters, can't get traders to work.

First time out of the vault
The rest of the game run errors free.
But when i find any traders out of normal camp mission, the barter\gamble function doesn't show when clicking on traders, to get something have to steal or kill out everyone.
I got patch 1.27 installed.
 
Sorry do what? Do you mean if you meet a trader in a special encounter as opposed to the bunker or a main mission you can't talk to them to get a trading option?

Are you sure that the people you are meeting are traders?

Check that loc-mis_E.bos has installed properly it should be 23,670KB. If not try doing a manual install from your cd to your core folder.
 
Only traders in special encounters don't.
i.e. : the raider merchant, market day, the hermit and so on.
i wasn't unable to locate that .bos file.
 
The file should be in your core folder, if not it's in cd3/core/ copy it to the core folder on your hard drive. You'll need it for the last bunker and final set of missions.

If it's corrupt on the cd try cleaning your cd, or use winrar to repair the bos file.

Remember NMA doesn't support file sharing, so if you still can't get it to work you'll need to look elsewhere on the net.
 
It looks like theres nothin to do. I've copy that file (btw it was in disc 1) but nothin changed.
thats strange cos any other merchant not in random encounters work.
It seems to me, by the number of post in this forum that this game (wich is good however) is full of bugs.
 
Your discs are weird, all the loc-mis files containing speech and mp3 files are split between discs 2 & 3 on the versions I know of.

Did you load up a save game from after you've found the encounter and then gone back? If so try loading up a save from before you get the encounter, it should work then.

The other merchants use different speech files, if they installed correctly then you wouldn't have any problems with them.

The game is definately bugged, but then that seems to be the normal state of affairs for the industry these days.
 
it's not me who install the game, that install by himself.
i really don't know how install each single file.
anyway, thanks for the help
