Ok is there any way to make all recruits available early in the game by changing something in the coding; or at least to make a specific one available?

Yes, but then you may be shifting the balance because recruits normally available later in the game are at higher levels with more perks, skills, etc. They still don't have the fancy weapons and armor. The easiest way to do it is rename the entitites in the recruits directory so that hm16 for example would be hm01. Backup the originals before you do this though.

If you want to get a bit more involved, point your browser to the following address:

C:\Program Files\14 Degrees East\Fallout Tactics\core\tables

There you will find the "campaign.txt" file. Open it w/a text-editing program and go to the following section:

// RECRUITS POOL DEFINITIONS

You will see lines that look like this:

{mission00;add;entities/recruits/hm01.ent}, //Male Stealth

Change all of the entries that do not read "mission00" or "mission01" to read either "mission00" or "mission01".

(I did mention to back this file up before you fuck w/it, right? ;-) )

After you've done that, saved and closed the file, fire up the FoT Editors and go to the Campaign Editor. There you open up the bos.cam file. Go to "Tools" and click on either "Import Data" or "Import Recruits". Then save and close the bos.cam file.

Doing this will make every recruit, lock, stock and barrel available upon your return from Brahmin Wood. That includes Ghouls, Raiders, Reavers, SM, DCs, etc., even those usually only available through SREs.

Like JJ86 says, it's not recommended you do this, as it will seriously unbalance the campaign. Every 'cruit will be available at their starting level, which for some is 20th+ level. But hey, it's your game and you can play it however you want to. Right?

ok tried it but do you have to finish a mission for it to take effect? I restarted a while ago and I am at quincy right now but I haven't entered the mission.

sorry about two seperate posts but, are you sure all you have to change is the .txt file? isn't there some kind of .cfg file I need to change to get this to work too?

Sorry, I thought you'd know enough to realize that when you modify the cam file you have to start the game over for it to take effect. You can make alterations to individual missions as long as you haven't entered them yet and they will take effect, but if you want to change the cam file you have to start a new campaign.
