PS:I still have a big probleme of perspective with my 3D Model of wall...
I'll make a post on it later...
It's boring...

I am going to say something that might sound stupid, but could you make blue hair instead of a red color?

I explain myself : if you make a blue one, I could rotate the blue palette to make it redhead, blond, brunette, white...
If you make red hair, any rotation i make would also affect the red on the face, the arms, etc, etc...

Anyway, if you could make some blue sample and upload it here, I could show what kind of result I can achieve...

Hmmm.... that red seem gloving.. scary!

To be honest, somehow, I can't imagine this kind of hair in post-nuclear world. But It would fit in some kind of japanese Anime :)

Keep on, don't stop! Never! Or ever.

I'm preparing a precious BGE random encounter with Jim Morrison aka The Lizard King, singing about fucking his mother all the night. Thus I'm naturally looking for some hippie pussies as horny fanny ---> your critter.

'kay, or maybe I'm lying, but I still do like the idea anyway. :P

Then you're still doing something wrong. Did you set a camera to Orthographic Projection as I told you?

Anyway, I do agree with Tom9k - hair are "gloving", which doesn't look good. But idea of red hair is pretty cool.

Her hair seems way to red. Regarding the wall, if its an angle issue read this:

http://falloutmods.wikia.com/wiki/How_to_translate_FO's_2d_environment_into_3d

I'll see with Tychoxi what can we do.
Tychoxy, can you send me some snapshot following this tutorial?
I don't know 3DS MAX...well I want to say I don't know how it works.

Thanks at all for your react.
It 's cool.
I 'll continue ;)
release in peace :)

I would suggest you the next method:

a) select the hair only using smart/automated selections
b) add some lightness to it, it will make even the blackest black colour somewhat gray (you can automate this step too)
c) keep working on the gray colours, since they can be coloured/saturated easily
d) eventually, you could play with contrast/brightness to add the final touch

Don't forget to record the final recipe once you nail it to the head. This will preserve the much needed consistence in your other animations and speed up their processing.

in french we would say:
"Putin ca l'fait bien ta technique Lisacék !!!"
I can translate it in english...too much incorrect :P
All of this to say I test your technique and the batch.
It 's amazing...the time won...(past of the win verb ?)
look at this beautiful 'sonia la rousse"

But Lisac2k? I don't understand how to smart select hair :)
Pliz check your mail box ;)
Bye all

I WANT THIS IN BGE.

OOOO I love redheaded (up and down stairs) girls!! It always reminds me of eating a sweet tasting strawberry sunday.

Sorry but I had to get that out.

umm... looks good and nice job!

Nice work, brother_soifran, That second version looks much better...though if i may suggest something: could you make the hair from the second version just a little bit darker? (a darker red tone i mean)...i think it would give the definitive red-hair look...

But, very nice anyway, keep it up... :)

Sorry for the late answer, I was busy today.

Anyway, about smart selections... It's a combination of selection methods which provides the best (and mostly the fastest, because we don't want to waste our precious time) results.

This is not a single tool in Photoshop (or any other bitmap editing utility), but rather a combination of selection tools - magic wand, select colour range, box selection, lasso, inverse selection etc. - which has to be made by user himself. This means that you have to use the selection tools and record your actions yourself, in order to get a "smart selection" for your work. Of course, these selections are not universal, so you can't apply them in general (they are highly specific, depending on the work you want to take care of).

I might publish one more tutorial regarding this issue soon... We'll see.

About the Sonja- it's much better now, but the colour still looks somewhat "artificial". Maybe you should spend more time outside scanning (or engaging) the read-headed girls ;)

Edit: forgot to mention the "Variations" tool in Photoshop, you can add different colour ingredients step-by-step to your selection and see the results immediately.

She reminds me a bit of Lola from "Lola Rennt" (don't know any english title).

Very red-ish hair.

Great work bro!! Keep tweaking the colors a little and you'll get it.

Also - what Greyswandir said is a good point: if you make sure none of the new red colors you add are the exact same color as any of the other colors in the critter, you can automate photoshop to change the hair color to anything you like!
