It Wandered In From the Wastes
In Fallout2 when I'm in the Wright's mansion in Reno I get a warning from Keith not to touch the door leading to his dad's room, even though I already have Keith's permission to come in. And when I somehow get in, talk to the old bastard and do his dirty work and I'm back to end my mission, there's no way for me to get inside again. I tried sneaking in, making my NPCs to "accidentally" open the door and stuff like that, but every time I just hear something like "I eat punks like you for breakfast" and someone attacks me. Annihilating the whole family just doesn't make me feel better.
Now, is that a bug (I have no patches installed, so it's more than possible) or am I just missing something?
I'll be grateful for any help
 
One time when I was playing without the patch, I got into a situation where I couldn't talk to Orvill Wright, because he'd fire at me instantly. Perhaps it has something to do with the murder quest and how you solve it?

If you are having problems with Keith, perhaps you could take him out silently (Superstims?)
 
I think I managed to solve the murder quest properly 'cause everybody just keeps on thanking me for that. Also, it's not only Keith who goes mad when I try to open the door. Sometimes a dog or one of the Wright-clones is first to attack me.

I used all the booze I had on Keith and he turned out to be a not-a-pain-in-the-ass after all. With his perception lowered I could sneak in easily.I just hope there won't be no morning after effect.

Yay me!

Ironically, in the new guide version I moved the contents of the use-Beer-on-Keith note into the evil-dude-getting-Wright-quests note since I thought it was a rare bug (looked at the script and as far as I can tell Keith should never forget that he once gave you permission). I guess it should have its own note after all if it keeps happening to people.

When using explosives to destroy the stills I've experienced the thing where you're suddenly jumped by the Wrights even though they didn't seem hostile a second ago. Maybe the same can happen in relation to them warning you about being armed, sneaking etc.
 
Well, I've been playing the game several times now (I usually choose to be a "do-gooder" rather than a bad ass) and seem to remember having problems with Keith, as well as with the post-still-blowing-situation.
I kind of take it as a sign of the waywardness of the Wrights. With a family like that I wouldn't be surprised by anything, I guess :ugly:
