Removing files on boot

I remember there being an option in Win XP Home or some other program that allowed you to remove annoying files that wouldn't go away when you try to delete them, on the next boot. I really can't find this function again, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you try removing the file while in safe mode?

If that doesn't work there are a couple programs out there that can delete files on reboot. I think "killbox" was one of them. Try that out if safe mode fails you.

Lollers.

Try starting Windows in safe mode (keep hitting F8 on boot) and then deleting the file. If that doesn't work, try using a program like MoveOnBoot.

The file isn't a mounted CD image, is it? Because if it is, you deserve to be spanked until you scream.

why would you think that?
Because it happened to my friend recently and I'm still under the impression. We spent like a week beating our heads over a stupid ISO file and it turned out it had been mounted in Daemon Tools. Brilliant.
