That sounds like one problem which one of my friend kept having for a while. I don't know much about Me so I can't help you there at the software department. Is 6GB all you have or are all those free space in a bigger drive? How long have you had this problem? Did you upgrade your OS? How old is your motherboard? Is the BIOS updated? You also may want to check your anti-virus program to see if it's running on full HD search all the time. If you just got new RAMs, that could be the problem. If your RAMs are compat. with your motherboard, or the other RAMs, or are different speeds, all that can contribute to your resources short fall. There are too many causes for this kinda of problem for me to give you a straight answer right now unless I know more. You can try pushing Alt, Ctrl, and Delete to check for things that's running on your background that you aren't aware of that should be shutted down. You should also try shutting down your anti-virus or IE for a while just to see if that's the problem. How about graphics? Is your resolution too high? Like I said, too many ????? on this type of problem, so why don't you take couple of these advice tonight, and come back and see me tommorow.:D

The quickfire test to see if its a hardware problem is as follows:
1)delete all items in the /startup/ folder
2)restart
3)disk cleaner
4)scan disk(s)
5)defragment disk(s)
6)restart again
7)if your still losing resources, the problem is most likely hardware related

Ofcourse, this isnt always going to work, but in my experience its always beneficial to do all of the above (regularly) anyway. Plus it can be fun... try placing bets on how long it will take with a friend!

That's the thing, nothing is new. The whole Pc is about 3-4 years old.
No new config.
No new Hardware (beside a new monitor last year)
No new software
Just updating virusscan and windows along the way.

Problem started 3 weeks ago and nothing had been updated for at leats 2 months ( didn't have time)

As for HD 6Gb out of 12 on main HD and about 4 Gb free out of 6 on secondary.

When did you updated your windows? You may still have residue from the old OS on your HD when you upgraded, so you should check it out with the microsoft website. They have most of the answers there.

Anyway, did you check your background program that is running right now by bringing up the re-start screen?
