Return of the VAULT'S?

I believe they need to be present in some way, to continue the storyline and make the game a Fallout in some level.
But dear god, don´t put V13 in anymore.. that´d be lame, to see the same place for third time(tho Vaults are practically copies of each other, just call it something else, ok..??:))

I don't think there's much danger of that happening, i think the game is much more likely NOT to be set in South california.

But yes, i do think the vaults are a integral part to any fallout game

I know they mentioned in FO2 that vaults were set to open at certain times, and under certain circumstances, etc. I'd like to see maybe there is a vault that has not yet been opened yet, or something of the similar.

ya but instead of normal humans living inside the closed vaults you have super humans as a result of genetic experimentation, the next wave of mutants maby?

i would also like to see a more complex floor plan fo the vaults, more levels and that kinda thing.

The vaults being essentially copies of each other got on my nerves after a while. Yes, there'd be SOME sort of standard plan but not every location is going to be the same.

I want to see a military or some sort of super vault. Maybe a private vault ... A good old-fashioned fallout shelter a group of people built. Kind of like the Slags in Modoc but a little less hole-in-the-ground type of thing. Or if it was like that, an entire cave system with giant mushrooms and lizards, giant lake with boats on it. Planet of the Apes anyone? Without the dumb psychic humans of course. :P That would be one way to get meat, populate the underground lake with fish that could survive with a minimum amount of maintenance.

underground lakes lack the life sustaining properties that surface lakes have, namely access to sunlight to keep the food cycle going. not to mention most underground lakes are fed atleast in part by some sort of surface waterway... so you have to deal with radiated water getting in...

so basicly the thing the slags were doing is a load of bull, their cave would have been fine for the first couple of weeks maybe... but not an extended period of time.

Im all for the vaults being in 3. but they really need to be bigger and differently designed, the same old designs are getting lame

That's why I said minimal maintenance. You'd need to set up lights and stuff. There are lakes that are fed from underground sources. Any surface water reaching them is going to eb heavily filtered from coming through a few thousand feet of rock and dirt..

The whole Vault/BoS thing has been done to death, with regards to the origin of your character in particular. Even though most of the non-mutant, non-ghouls came from Vaults, there has to be more than one way to evade fiery death at the hands of nuclear war (the Enclave being a prime example). What I'd like to see is something more along the lines of playing as a low-ranking member of the Enclave who deserted right before it hit the fan. Or some other origin of equal or lesser value that has nothing to do with a Vault (especially one having a certain lucky number) or the BoS.

Second on the variety of floor layouts. Perhaps add in some of those extra floors that we always see in the art? That the entrance and 1st three floors are identical is kind of dumb, it seems like they did that to save time in level design.

BTR: I must personally disagree with you on the game concept, and while I will not flame you, you might want to hide in a vault yourself with some good AC, as I fear that you are about to receive an ass load (look out especially if the reference ass is one of the orderites, I hear their pretty stretched out of proportion) of flames.
