First time out of the vault
Hi everyone!
Sorry if I post it in the wrong place, and if there's something similar discussed - I didn't find it, though, so here we are:
I've encountered an interesting glitch or maybe bug or whatever in my F2 RP 2.3.3. Looks like I know why it had occured, but the result seems a bit funny for me. It's all about Skynet brain bot in SAD.
First of all, I didn't turn the main power off in an underground bunker outside the base - i find it more comfortable to explore the base fully illuminated, and with my repair skill at 115 I have no problems with disabling yellow force fields (red ones, though, cannot be disabled using repair, you have to pass them through and lose hp). All went as usual till I reached level 3 and used the computer just across the corridor from the elevator. It asked my identity, and for no obvious reason I lied that I'm Corporal Dixon, although it's safe and by any means better to tell the truth at this point, as I know now. I was immediately kicked out of the system and all computers just gave me electrical discharge after that, thus becoming unusable. Perhaps it wouldn't happen if I used Dixon's eye on it from the beginning, I guess I'll discover this at my next playthrough.
Secondly, I've completely missed Skynet main console (a big one in the room with a mainframe, probably didn't notice it behind the pillar) and went directly to the brain bot, stuffed the motivator anb biomed gel into it, then went to level 4, got cybernetic brain (raised science at 125 just for this), returned back, installed the brain into bot and started him up using a nearby computer (the only one which didn't try to electrocute me). The bot only said "give weapon, proceed to the surface" and joined me - in my previous playthrough it didn't, as I already had Sulik and Cassidy with charisma 5 at that time, but my party was the same in this case as well. And no mention of Skynet - apparently because I actually didn't talk to it before installing the brain, or because I was locked out as intruder, or maybe both reasons. Heh, looks like I saved the world from another return of the Terminator, without knowing it
And wherever I went with this bot afterwards, it only kept saying "give weapon, proceed to the surface", and only one dialog option - "bye". However, I could give him a weapon and set up his combat behaviour through combat control.
I think if I tell Sulik and Cassidy to wait for me before going to Navarro (second run, to get the FOB and erase all the Enclave), one of them won't rejoin me if brain bot remains intact, so I won't reload if the brain bot dies there. It's just that the situation seems quite funny to me, although if there is some way to reset the security system at SAD and upload Skynet to the already assembled brain bot, I would very much appreciate if anyone tells me)
