this game will be amazing, big world, cars, a lot of weapons, rpg elements and fantastic post apocaliptic atmosphere :)
Lots of hype, nothing concrete to show after years of development. Yep, sounds like Daikatana. Or rather, D.A.I.K.A.T.A.N.A.*

Next!

*in light of everything that transpired, one of the following names would be appropriate for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.:

- S.T.A.L.L.E.R.
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Forever
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Patience Lost
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadows of Ionstorm
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Interest Lost

I'm the same, no interest in this game now what-so-ever.

I remember the hype surrounding this game, and I'm not ashamed to say I was sucked up by it for a while. However with little info coming out about this game for over a year I'm really starting to doubt anything the Devs say.

just give us the game... how hard can it be?

I'm not giving up, this game looks great, when it comes out I'll get it. I'm not to fussed how long it takes, I'm sure I can amuse myself for the next few years.

Err..pretty hard? :) They have some ambitious goals and personally I appreaciate it. A living ecosystem with dynamic factions, it sure is much harder a goal than slapping together 20-something SP levels as most games do these days. The only mistake they have done is announcing the game too early (which is understandable, since it helped them with funding, i guess), so many of us have burned out waiting.

The question is, when are they going out of funds.
They can't go on like this indefinitely.
They are not 3d-Realms. 8)

Well, GSC is quite a biggie developer in that region, its not like STALKER is their only project. Of course, its hard to tell how much dough one has, but I`d guess that their Cossacks series are pretty good earners.

woops.. Wasn't aware of that I posted last night. Was kind of drunk. Ofcourse it's hard to develope a game this size.

I don't think I can get burned out on this premise. Walking around Pripyat, going up to the sarcophagus...it makes me giggle if I think about it too much. I'm a nuclear disaster junky :(

These articles do say that the game is now feature-complete, though, so for the next 6 months it should just be a matter of crunching those beta bugs. Hopefully the articles are correct.
