Спасибо, BHC.

So from what I've gathered this is a version of the game that still has many of the RPG-like elements intact. Your character will need food and rest. There is also a drivable vehicle. From what I've been able to piece together it sounds like this was the last internal version of the game before THQ came in and decided to cut back features to finish it up.

It does sound buggy though. From what I was reading there are a few quests that will just flat out crash the game and have to be avoided.

I haven't had a chance to download it yet, but I will be doing that later tonight.

It is more stable than Clear Sky was in its first versions...

Download the fan-made hotfix too.

Also some of the old maps are pretty cool. Some didn't changed and are still the same like in SoC or CS. Also they are a lot bigger than in the final version. Agropop as example has the hole underground in one map- no loading screen. And you have a lot ways to enter the underground. It's very cool.

Ah yeh, and I found a brain in Yantar.

Ah, I wish that I had access to my gaming rig, this looks sweet. I'm sure the many modding fans will fix this beauty up real nice.

Because you guys are the only one in the hole interwebz who posted about this, eh?

Do I need to have some assets from the retail game, or is this a standalone? There was never a demo to try so I didn't bought it.

Stole our news item again. Cite the source you faggot.
lol

It is a unfinished build from 2004. You don't need the game for this, but you need to install the fixes and stuff or you can not start it (or if you can start it, then maybe it crashes after a short time and so on).

Also there was never a demo. Only leaked work in progress version.

No, I did it first!

:mwahaha:

:EDIT:
Also, I've been playing around with it. Where are the harmonica dudes? I thought they had them back then, because I clearly remember seeing a trailer with some guys around a fireplace and one of the was playing the harmonica. They didn't make it to the final game, nor to clear sky, for whatever reason.

You can get back the harmonica-thingy with a mod for SoC. It was released pretty fast.

I never got into modding STALKER. I was waiting for the game to be properly patched and then replay it with mods, but I never reinstalled it again. Than CS came and its mechanics were so very much cooler than SoC (what with the artifact hunting and weapon customization) that I never got to play SoC again. It's an hell of an adventure, much better than CS will ever be, and it's a real shame it lacks that wonderful artifact hunting and weapon customization mechanics.
