savegame converter

I downloaded the savegame converter from the Files section, and... It doesn't explain it very well. In the file it says 'run the trans.exe file, select your savegame and hit convert'. Of course, when I run the program it can't find my savegames folder. I tried moving it into another directory (the fallout dir), still didn't work, then the data dir, then the savegame dir, none of these worked.

So, anyone want to help me get the thing to work?

Are you proficient with Dos?

I never used the game, but I presume it runs in MS Dos. Generally, you will type something like this:

<Program> <command> <file>

But some programs will have a different configuration. Best thing to do is see if there is a helpfile by typing:

<Program> -h
or
<Program> -?
or just
<Program>

Why yes, I am

Well, it doesn't seem to be a dos program, as when it fails it comes up with a gui message box. I DID try it however, thanks for the suggestion. I'll play around some more I guess, see if I can get it to work...
