savegame converter

I downloaded that savegame converter in the Files page. I've already patched fallout2, but I want to get my old savegames back.
The problem is, trans.exe 'Cannot find Fallout 2 savegame directory'. I have tried placing it in the savegame directory, or the data directory, or the fallout2 directory. None of the above things work. I've even tried using the dos command prompt to load it, and tried pointing it to the savegame dir.

I couldn't get it to work, can anyone help?
 
You don't put it in any of the fallout files (data, savegame, etc.)
you just keep it in the unzipped file after you unzip it, open the file savecon, and then it opens from there.
