Screenshots in Master of Orion II

I've been trying to figure out how to take screencaps in Master of Orion II. Alas, I could not devise a way, so I ask thee, NMA...

How the fuck do I take screenshots in Moo2?

Found this after a quick google search, don't know if it will help. I've never played, nor heard of Master of Orion II.

MOO was awesome... MOO2 was even better... MOO 3, not so much.

I'm going to re-isntall MOO 2 now :).

Is it inverting the colors or not taking a screenshot at all with print screen? If it's the former then it shouldn't be an issue, just paste it into a image editing application and invert the colors back to normal. I would think at least. GIMP is a pretty popular open-source program that has such a capability in case you don't have anything else that can.

I would play Masters of Orion if the interface was not the equivalent of having 30 internet explorer menus and 20 control panel menus open at once in Windows 3.1

Any game where you actually need a paper and pen just to memorize the UI system and emulation software that takes up more hard drive space than the actual game is not good.

It sure takes screenshots. The hard part is that it doesn't save the palette (MoO2 uses a custom 256 palette) and I end up with pruple/black gibberish on my screen.

Is it inverting the colour palette? Maybe just try pasting it into MSPaint and clicking the invert colours option. Some old games tend to do dumb stuff like that, worth a shot.

1. Run Le Dosboxe, altenter for window mode, Ctrl+Alt+Prsc for screenie, paste to a graphical editor of your choice.
2. Save.
3. ????
4. PROFIT!
