detecting when the player changes his current weapon's firing mode?

Like from Single to Burst.

I'm thinking you could maybe make an advanced weapon by writing a script that replaces your weapon with another hidden one when you change firing modes. So you could have an M-16 with a grenade launcher and switch between firing bullets or firing grenades.
 
Function? Nope.

Maybe there's a work-around through scripts, also some protos should be hexed... It's too complicated.
