Sega AM2 plans "big announcement"...

In all honesty, I don't think that their announcement is going to be Shenmue 3: Digitalrex would be the best studio to handle that. Chances are, it's going to be an Xbox port of Virtua Cop 3, and if it's just that, I'll be happy. 8)

And before you ask, the Xbox port of Out Run 2 is being handled by a British dev house called Sumo Digital, obviously under the supervision of AM2 so it won't suck.

EDIT: Oh, and Digitalrex is the Sega dev studio headed by Shenmue/Virtua Fighter/Hang-on/Out Run (1 and 2)/Space Harrier/After Burner/Ferrari F355 Challenge creator Yu Suzuki. Oddly enough, there are no projects that Digitalrex is working on... none that we know of...

It's going to be Shenmue 3. Definitely.

Eh, I still think Digitalrex would be the logical choice for Shenmue 3, since it's Yu-san's baby and all. Let me lay down the reasons why my money is still on a port of Virtua Cop 3:
this article says that AM2 recently posted a help wanted listing for light gun testers. And I have to rule out House of the Dead 4: the zombie-fragging goodness is handled by a different dev house. (Sega WOW, for anybody keeping track) And as mentioned, AM2 isn't doing the port of Out Run 2- Sumo Digital is doing it, (under the supervision of AM2), freeing up AM2 for other projects. And Virtua Cop 3 is too recent for AM2 to do Virtua Cop 4- why ruin the profit potential? And AM2 is finishing up Virtua Fighter 4 Final Tuned, so that eliminates any possibility for Vritua Fighter 5. There is the Pokemon themed Virtua Quest, but that is almost done, according to sources. I would say a sequel to Ferrari F355 Challenge, (Ferrari 360 Modena Challenge?) since Sega got the Ferrari license back for Out Run 2, but that's pie in the sky thinking. 8) Lastly, there are reasons why AM2 initially ruled out a Virtua Cop 3 port, but they seem half-assed to me. First they say that the game is too short. I managed to beat it in about 40 minutes, same length as House of the Dead 3, yet Sega had no qualms about a home port for the latter. Then Sega raised the problems and costs of developing a light gun, ignoring the fact that Pelican and Mad Catz already developed light guns for HOTD 3, and it shouldn't be that much of a jump to make them work with VC 3.

So, have I made my case? 8)

Why don't you just delete it then, in stead of posting an "oh no, my face is all read" post
