several simple fallout questions

1) Do fallout 1 & 2 run on windows XP?

2) I started playing these a while ago but I had to reformat and I lost the CDs. Is it worth buying it again? I didn't get very far, I only played about 4-5 hours total.

3) Are there any other good FOT mods besides Awaken? (single player only)

4) Where can I get Fallout 1 & 2 cheap online? Is ebay the best bet?

1) I think so, though I honestly haven't tested them on my own computer, as my friend is borrowing them. Since he's running WinXP, I'm leaning towards "yes."

2) If anyone here says no, I shall cut out their heart with a rusty grapefruit spoon.

3) No idea. Not real big on FO:T.

4) Probably. Occasionally, GameStop/Software Etc will have copies, but that's hard to find.

1- Yes........ Damn look around a little before posting. There are even installation instructions around here somewhere, and plenty of bug-fixes.

3- *shrug* Most people here don't 'exactly' like tactics.
4- Wherever you can find it is the best deal. It's becoming an increasingly rare commodity.

Fallout 2 works well with Windows XP. You might have to tweak some video and sound settings, but that's describe in the sticky at the top of this forum.

I had problems getting Fallout 1 to work with Windows XP. The only way for to get rid of the problem of the screen going blank is to install Windows 98 on a separate drive. Win 98 compatibility modes and adjusting the number of colors and turning off the video driver didn't help. From reading the various postings in this forum, my guess is tht ATI cards behave better. I own a nvidia card.
