Lived Through the Heat Death
I suppose this thread will be obliterated or something, but here it goes:

It`s incredible what happened in this board! Rosh took things a bit too far several times, but things worked fine in the end. Now you take the one time he`s right in everything he wrote, and didn`t even spelt the first blood, he was just replying to an arrogant newbie (yeah, newbie my ass, i know those arguments from other places, who are you Max, those ideas seem...familiar) and you bash him. Shadowman, you were always the fairest and more reasonable admin, but what you did this time sucked big time.

The lack of Fallout3 seems to put everyone on the edge across the community, i rested for a while when things went too far in other sites, but it seems things aren`t still that great after all; flame wars in v13, here...fallout3 just in real mode, tactics very far from beeing triple A, i lost my precious original fallout demo, bad vibes everywhere...

Last month i exchanged some mails to a computer mag reporter to help him do a story on fallout3 and to push some publicity to frenchvault. The guy put a sentence in a prior article saying how fabulous NMA is; like him many still come here after all this time, and many others are showing up. If the admins feel tired just take a vacation, relax, and take some time thinking about the reorganization of this joint.

Miroslav is thinking about it,that`s good, but maybe he should talk now and let us all know what he thinks about shadowman and roshambo`s points of view, that would clear things.

I don`t usually talk this way into a matter that doesn`t concern me. If you think i`m out of line, just erase this, i don`t have a problem with that. It`s just that you admins are so into this that you probably can`t see how good these boards are, whatever
community you choose to compare.

But you can destroy that, of course.

Well, you're not really much better when you say that he's an arrogant newbie.

LOL, and do you think everyone make all their arguments up all by themselves, with no outside interference? Geeze.

I've been a gone for a little while (you thought you had gotten rid of me? Ha!), been busy with school stuff (=playing quake3). Can someone briefly explain to me what happened? I don't really get it...

As for this topic, Rosh and I disagreed rather strongly but I had hoped it was over. As far as im concerned it is and I hope everyone else will let sleeping dogs lie.

The fact remains that you did start bashing Rosh, but then again Rosh did get a little worked up. But I can understand him, especially when someone new to the Fallout community comes on and says that one of the most devoted Fallout fan ever (meaing Rosh) is all wrong.

And DO NOT try and start a fight with me Max, I'll send you a new password for your Max account. Just email me and I'll send you a new password.
And Max why have you made another account under the username of Maxim?

And Shadowman:I'd like to hear what happened here, could you email me about it..

RE: o.k. (nt)

Errr Odin. I said nothing about the argument or about Rosh. I just said we disagreed strongly. I didnt mean anything by it, no need to get worked up.

I dont need a new password, just dont worry its got nothing to do with the board.

As for Maxim that was a mistake (my email redirects and I checked the wrong account).

I mean briosafreak sees I dont want any more trouble and I really hope no one else does. People are getting a little jumpy around here.

RE: Doc's Advice

Hmm, I have been quite absent from the boards and without reading ALL the threats, I kind of "assume" what happened. You see, there is a difference between all Fallout fans and that difference is that the common Fallout fan, enjoys the game, tries to write a fanfic, talks with his/her friends about it. Some even go farther and some do not. But what causes problems with newbies is that they start as the common Fallout fan and when they visit these message boards, they find themselves against a community that is far from a common game fan. The term fan may sound a bit offensive as in "overzealous fanatic" but I mean it in the better sense of the word as in "appreciates a game or musical band or whatever, tries to improve it, points out the mistakes, tries to come with some solution to them (modding), and all of us feel that little thing we appreciate as something personal. The Fallout world envelops you, invites you into an insight to the what the world could have become (or could become if things continue as they go) and encourages you to take part in it. When a newbie bashes a Fallout FAN, it is not just the FAN what they are bashing. To the bashed, they feel their world (their subjective view of the world actually) is insulted and often come back quite severely. An example of this is the thread like that of Joe's Cafe where things started on Fallout and when both sides started to get too involved in it, it became personal. The fights in here are pretty vicious, as far as I have seen. They aren't your run-of-the-mill argument where both sides start on the topic and then pass to childish arguments of who says the most vulgar insult or who points the biggest physical or mental flaw of the other side. The discussions here are quite painful because both sides are quite intelligent and the fight isn't done with insults but with calculated remarks on personal matters that the sides infer from what they read in the messages. That is the reason for me not to post frequently. Not fear from getting bashed but from suffering from it, as I am a very sensitive person. The topics that fire up those arguments have been told over and over so I am not going into that now. You, Max. I know you had your argument with Roshambo and maybe feel resentful because of that. From reading into his posts, I tell you: Don't take what he says personally. He is a very talented individual and even when he is arguing viciously, his posts are something to learn from. If you called names on each other and are an intelligent person, you should let sleeping dogs lie as you are doing. If you are a wise person, you might try and go over the argument again and see where it went wrong, where did both of you pass from Fallout to "My Fallout". I have seen that people who discuss with Roshambo is because they basically agree with what he says but don't like the way he puts it or don't like the measures he pursues but in the end, they see his point. As for me, I have the habit of avoid arguing because I take it WAY TOO PERSONALLY and often cross the line between disagreement and HATE. Not too dangerous coming from someone who is just 1.71 mt and 135 Lbs (I know I am a midget, don't get any ideas :) ). Yet I have electronically screwed up some people in my country because they were messing too much with me. So to avoid any more trouble, I avoid arguments because I can't control my temper. (This last part is put in here for those of you who wonder why don't I post in the forums [if such people exist]).
As a final advice, instead of ranting and feeling blue because Fallout 3 isn't in production yet, go and download the Arcanum Demo and forget all about your fights and worries...I have.
