Let's try to keep *some* civic order to this forum, okay guys? From what I've read, this is an argument, not a debate. Some of participants have taken the other's comments/opinions personal and it has resulted in a mud-slinging fest from both sides. Please, address the points/arguments made by the speaker, not the speaker himself.

Rosh and Max: This is one of the more interesting "debates" I've seen, but it has turned into a battle of wills rather than a debate. I don't care who started it, or if you feel that the other person prompted the attack or whatever, because from what I've seen, you've both been slinging mud and attacking each other, not their arguments. I see a battle of two wills that are very like each other, and unfortunately, it doesn't mix. Also, please refrain from whining to me about who's fault it was, your motives, why you were justified, etc. It doesn't matter, just don't continue doing it.

Rosh: Your admin privileges are returned. Please refrain from banning/deactivating people if you're sick of hearing them. You've done it in the past, but I've refrained from doing anything about it (with exceptions) probably because I was sick of the person too. Also, please don't take revenge out on Shadowman for revoking your privileges.

Shadowman: Do not revoke other admin's privileges simply because you feel they're out of line. If you feel an admin is out of line, tell him first, and if he continues to stay out of line, consult the other admins and/or Miroslav for permission to restrict/remove privileges from another admin. I will not respect any administrasive demotion made by another admin without consent of the other admins and/or permission by Miroslav (which should come in the form of a message by him on the board). Furthermore, you should have plainly stated when and why you demoted Roshambo in a message to the board and a notification by email.

I didn't revoke his admin priviliges. I mailed Miroslav about his behaviour and he revoked his admin privileges. I wasn't even aware I have the power to revoke admin priviliges. It's my opinion I shouldn't be able to do that since it's not part of my job as an admin. As for confronting Rosh first instead of going over his head, maybe that would've been better, but I didn't. My mistake. Fact is Rosh abused his powers and apparently he's done it before. I can't tolerate that.

Ah, then I'll have to revert Rosh's privileges to the previous status if Miroslav did that. Miroslav should really put a notice on the board if he does that...

Wow! Finally you got your eyes up!

This has got to be some SERIOUS shit. :D

Well, he's done it before and he's more than likely to do it again, so why keep him at all?

Well he really hasn't done it before, if he's done it at all. Rosh denies it, and from past experience he hasn't resorted to such a relatively lowly measure. Usually he'll just ban the person instead of merely deactivating an account. Account deactivation is not permanent (people can change alias) and without an official warning for the person, the person with the account deactivated cannot be cited as circumventing administrasive action by creating a new account. Rosh knows this. His usual pattern is to inform the person that they're banned, etc., deactivating/deleting the account and then sending notice to Miroslav to block the person's IP address(es), doing it his normal way would've been more permanent and official.

He does his job, albeit he might overdo it sometimes, but he's done a good job for the most part. I for one don't do jobs like unqueing messages on the advertising board or moderating some of the forums like the Fallout 2 forum (I got sick of it after a while), while he (and Shadowman) take time to do those things.

I don't know what to think on this matter. The only people who can deactivate an account are admins, and the only admins here are Kharn (who hasn't been around for about six months), Shadowman, Roshambo, Odin and myself. I know *I* didn't do it, Shadowman claims he didn't even know he could demote even demote other admins, Odin's position is really ceremonial on the board and he doesn't get into these matters, and Rosh denies doing it and this doesn't follow his patterns of conduct.

This forum has been dying a slow death... It's been two years since we started having admins here and I fear we're starting to lose interest... Not many people visit, there's less and less to talk about, many peope have left, and now this...

RE: I'm still here, Xotor (N/T)

The forums dying? It eill pick up once Fallout 3 is released. the fact your board has intrest for 2 years is pretty good.

The simple fact is people get bored and run out of things to talk about.

I mean even SC's ands Civ's boards are slowing.

Jesus... Maybe some logging system would help?

Or we can simply reduce the numer of admins to 1. :)

Well, simply the community changes and the forums try to remain the same, so no one is interested.

But I have to wonder if Miroslav has logs of page accesses, etc. It would certainly clear up this matter a bit. All evidence is circumstantial at this point. Perhaps it would help if Miroslav were to say something on the matter. I do find it strange that Miroslav didn't inform the board that Rosh was demoted if he did indeed carry out the demotion.

That would take too much work... ugh, and with problems like this...

The forum has started to fester... heh.
