I posted this in an old news thread, but nobody reacted to it. Anyway, I was planning to make a Fallout/ Fallout Tactics mod for Silent storm, considering the gameplay resembles Fallout's a bit, and to compensate for our recent loss. Although I have no idea if that is legal, and I haven't really learned how to mod in SS yet. So if anybody's interested, e-mail me. It would be nice to see something made by Fallout fans, and not some FOPOS crap.
 
I don't think you have to worry about legality unless you start selling it. If I can ever get this f*#$%ing MS SQL server installed so I can actually use the editor I'm more than willing to lend a hand.
 
Theres a really really old war game called soldiers i do believe and Silent Storms gameplay and whole idea of the game is almost identical to it.
 
About the MSQL server thingy I had that problem too. You can install it from the SS cd. On my cd it's in the bin/MSDE folder. It's a setup file. Editor works fine after that although its very confusing (no help section and I don't even know how to make my own map).
 
I got to that part - my problem is that it MSSQL will start to install, reach about 99%, say "Installation failed, please check your error logs", and close down. The logs don't say much of anything, or at least anything that signals a reason for failure - no help from Nival's forums or the S2HQ forums either about getting it installed. I'll try and brave Microsoft's awful support page this weekend and see what they have to say about it.
 
OK. Other than that, welcome aboard. I'll delve into the mysterious realm of the S2 editor this weekend.
