I consider Silverfall a hidden diamond in the rough. It's mostly got bad reviews, but after its expansion pack, which modifies the original game, I find it to be a fantastic action RPG. I like the gameplay mechanic that allows you to choose between a nature(Magic etc) alliance or science(Mechanical, steampunk, etc). You can increase your alliance in any of these two by doing side quests, and will decide what type of weapons you will have to use. The action is fairy fun, with an interesting storyline.
Although there are still many problems with the game, I find the goods overwhelm the bad. But the bads are still annoying.
- Runs like crap, badly coded. (Not just some sorry excuse, it DOES run real slow in high end rigs)
- Camera. It feels zoomed in too close at maximum height. Madness.
- A better minimap.
- Sidequests MUST tell whether the quest you're about to finish is for nature or science! The game does not tell you, you need to read the quest description carefully. If you accidentally do a nature quest, your Science alliance will drop, and you may find yourself unable to use weapons that require a high science loyalty.
Both the game+exp are on Steam, a little pricey at $40, but I recommend it to anyone who likes Titan Quest and Action RPGs.
