Sin City movie.

So Old I'm Losing Radiation Signs
My friend is a fan of the comics, so I'll just repeat what she had to say about it on another forum:

Any self respecting fan of comics knows Frank Miller's work. Whether it's his Batman stuff or Daredevil things, you've at least heard of him. Sin City, which is probably his best (and original) work, is a gritty, dark portrayal of life in the urban shithole that is Basin City.

Robert Rodriguez liked them. A lot, apparently, because he left the Director's Guild (And subsequently a movie with a GIGANTIC budget) to have Frank on board as co-director and to do this movie. The cast has names in it like Bruce Willis, Elijah Wood, Mickey Rourke, Carla Gugino, Jessica Alba, Nick Stahl, Josh Hartnett, Rosario Dawson, Brittany Murphy, Clive Owen, and Benicio Del Toro as some of its colorful cast.

It's going to be a collection of a few stories including: Sin City, A Dame To Kill For, The Big Fat Kill, and That Yellow Bastard. It's being done completely digital (Digital backdrops, digital cams) and is going to be exact transcriptions of the movie to film. Not "reimaginings". It's even being filmed like the comic is colored (B&W with only CERTAIN things in color).

There... I think I've said enough info. Here's some pictures that were released from the Comic Convention's footage:

The pictures really don't give justice to it. Seeing the thing in motion is fantastic though.

She's right, it really is another thing to watch it rather than see the screenshots. Anybody that wants the Comicon footage, I can send it to you over AIM starting tomorrow (this location has slower internet).

I haven't read the comics, but I sure as Hell am now. The movie will be released sometime this March.

Yeah, I haven't read the comics either, but I've been looking into it for a while. This movie looks like it will be pretty sweet.

Fun fact - Quentin Tarantino directed a segment of this film for one dollar. In return, Robert Rodriguez helped to score Kill Bill volume 2, for a dollar.

Also, the Comicon footage featured the entire length of the 5 page Lady in Red transcript scene, which serves as the movie's opening. Its well worth getting the footage, as it serves a perfect example of what to expect from the rest of the film.

I hope they paid tax properly on those dollars.

Well, my brother bought a car from a neighbor fo one dollar, the state didn't tax him on it.

*update*

A torrent of the comicon footage can be downloaded here.

Of course, you need bittorent, but its well worth it.
