Skipping music (Fallout 1)

Has anyone found a fix for this? It's a minor annoyance, but I get the feeling the fix probably isn't that complicated.

I've tried lowering Acceleration, running the exe in Compatibility Mode, and increasing the audio buffer in Fallout.cfg. Doesn't seem like any fix it

To see the issue, just play Fallout 1 for a bit and at some point the music will skip around. It's a strange issue.

Really? I've had it happen on every modern system I've played Fallout 1 on....

What OS are you using?

You're sure it isn't just going on loop, and it feels weird when the tune starts again?


Sounds dumb, but it happened to me in some games, and it can sound weird if you're immersed into it.

Don't think so. I'll try to get a recording of it. It sounds like someone skipped ahead ten seconds in the song, then back twenty seconds, then back to the original position.
