Skynet Problem

Jabu

It Wandered In From the Wastes
I'm encountering a difficulty concerning the skynet computer. When I first entered the depot and talked with it, I was told to get him a brain, but because I knew my Science skill level was inadequate to get the Cybernetic brain, I held out until I had honed my scientific abilities. I've come back now, probably 6 months later, with the appropriate skill level (and the cybernetic brain), but when I talk to Skynet the console reads "Error! Downloading file corrupted." Thats what I get if I come with the brain, if I come before retrieving it, it simply tells me to get it, but when I come back (with the brain, or even if I leave it lying on the floor) I get the error message.

Is this because I waited "so" long, did I screw up somewhere else, or is there a third explanation?

(I'm using Killap's 1.02.25 UP)

Twanks!

My sincerest apologies!

I my intentions were not sinister, I simply thought this was a general Fallout issue, not really a bug. I mentioned the patch version just in case indeed it was patch related.

Sorries anyway.

I've noticed that as well, and it isn't a problem. Finish building the robot and Skynet will upload itself into it.

Thanks! That's a relief, I only punched up my Science skill to be able to get the true SUPER(!) Skynet robot, good to know it wasn't a waste.

Rather weird though. Anybody know what the reason or reasoning behind this is?

Probably a bug, since it tells you to come back for further instructions after getting the brain. I think it's supposed to be displayed after Skynet transfers itself to the robot.

(It worked!)

Well when you do transfer Skynet, and then check the terminal you get a different message about there being no Program Files or something or other.

It seems more of an oversight. There is no indication this is a bug - ie no new dialogue.
