Hi everyone i return to modding with new concepts

Here is some NEW SCREEN

First: I want rebuild all stuff and make mod only for peoples who just want see something new. Already as you known i tryed fix everything (alternate Arroyo, game end, car, items, encounters) But that make you play the same game and search news.. its boring.

My favourite atmosphere was in Fallout 1 and i want make mod close to it. Story: You are pilot who crash vertibird on area devastated by war. You lost memories, dont known where is base, where to go. Inside ruins you may found old map. Item which now you use to travell (there is no worldmap, when you use map item- will open dialog system where shown locations to go) All these locations will be new. There will be no prior quest, just travel trough wasteland. Every location will be some small independend adventure.

Instead of make one big game with big quest i will make many small games connected by crash site and map. Ofcourse i will try make these small adventures 100% playable without errors, small but high quality. And they will be relased as official mods, not like now.. one big demo.

For exapmle Arroyo reactor will work now as independend location with secrets to solve (some small adventure like Sierra Army or Military Base) Probably mostly new locations will look like Abandoned Places to explore (hidden secrets and treasures)
 
Good thing you didn't bail out on the Fallout modding. So Its good to see that your still with us.

So you have a new ideas again. All your work that you done in the past will it be included in you upcoming mods as well ?
 
I like his new concept. This way he can make "a modular mod", where every location could be a milestone (module) of the project. Even if he makes one single location (one module), it'll be worth seeing/playing it :ok:
 
Probably i will made new version of BSM (maybe called "BSM2: Abandoned Places") So BSM1 is try to fix many parts of game and BSM2 for players who want only new stuff.

I invent new game system about motivation to play. In original game was prior quest which you try solve. Here most important will be "game secrets" when you find them you get experience. Task is to find all secrets and treasures of area ang get best exp score.

Most playable part of Fallout was:
1. Dark postnuclear atmosphere and abandoned places. Mostly in F1 like V15, Necropolis or F2 like Sierra Army
2. Many small game secrets and interesting stuff hidden everywhere on it

And i want put them all into this mod (it should be worth to play)

First relase will have standard begining location and one area using map. Already i got these locations (remade parts of BSM1) and only invent new scripts, secrets for it.
 
Are you going to make a button in the main menu for mods?

Or you just replace the original storyline? :(
I would rather have the option to merge all in the same instal, like megamod on the original storyline and then a button who could make me choose to play BSM1 or BSM2 or other mods..

This could be a standard to every modder in here imo..
 
Sorry Demonslayer, I fear this isn't possible.
Games must be built at the purpose to do so.
In games like Arcanum or Neverwinter Nights the game itself is considered to be a module (or mod) just like the others.There are several copies of each configuration file, one for each module. Fallout is a standalone game. We must put our stuff in the very game files (or guts). This is one of the many reasons why Fallout is so hard to mod.

Do you remember my old concept "Arizona Desert" 3D view in Fallout? Well i made it for begining area. If you wonder how its look real in game, check this: BSM2: Abandoned Places

You can just walk around and take few items from vertibird. In official version i will made map item inside vertibird which will move you to some new areas.

I can't try it at the moment. but I would love to see some screen shots. I really liked that few.

could you post show screenshots please ?
 
I made new site for BSM2, check it (and there is some screenhot)

Some changes: now you use dices for random travell and every areas looks like special encounters. There is no prior quest, just walk around and find secrets (alco called "eastern eggs")

I got begining area and one encounter where you may go. This area will grown in future (got many ideas) Version 1.11 give you 150 exp.

This mod will extend more using "Easy Updates System" (see readme) In simple words is playable in any version you download.
 
is BSM1 complete now? If not, are you still going to finish it ?

Lich what should I download to play BSM1? I'm confused by your site.

BSM1 is obviously finished, i made alternate begining, many new stuff during play and alternate game ending (when you bring GECK to village it will be upgraded to stone buildings like in elder legends) But ofcourse its olways something what could be changed so officially i say its 70% finished. You can download it by click on progress bar picture. Other stuff is just big scripting guide.

BSM2 is new concept of modding. Here i dont fix original game in some parts but just throw many small mods, every ideas into one place. There will be no worldmap or prior quest but many areas like special encounters filled with many secrets. Its made for peoples who just want see something new interesting in game. Its also system which could be used to connect every, even unfinished Fallout 2 mods into one big crazy mod. Already i use it to connect my own small mods.

"Abandoned places" mean every stuff not implement into official game (like Abbey, EPA, Primitive tribes) and small unfinished, never relased mods. They all will work now as more special encounters to explore. But game is crazy, here is only encounters- normal game world and prior quest, background story dont exist. Motivation to play is get experience by search game secrets (some hidden stuff in every area) So your task is to get maximal possible amount of exp. (score)
