Some questions about elevators.

I am working on some really amazing stuff at the moment, and i nned to map a elevator, i have followed the tutorial , but i have still some questions.


First, why is the den map reserved? Did BIS wanted to add some stuff i earlier day, or wy there is the possibility to make a DEn elevator.

Second, this sit good for my, BUt i have make the elevator, but i get on the wrong side,(hex) because i have to get out neear the BoS Vault, but i get out near the enerace of den.

Can this be fixed? And i know its hardcoded, but i heard there ist a tool, who hack the exe, is this right?

Some answers will be very helpfull, of course i can use a stair, but this sint the same. I imagine this, like the Frisco elevator, just for The Den, hope you understand me during my bad english.

There is indeed an elevator editor for Fallout 2. Grab it from TeamX

The problem with elevators though is that they are hardcoded into the game and there is only a set number of them to use. Thus, if you want to add an elevator, you have to remove elevator functionality from an existing location. If you want to make a mod that doesn't use old locations from the game, this is fine. However, if you want to expand to the existing game (like my expansion did) then adding elevators is not really an option in the form they are presented. Thus, taking the script based approach to elevators like was done with the EPA is good option.

Because I used the script based approach, setting where the user teleports to is much easier and controlled via the map and elevator script. Using the elevators in the form they are in the game might have predefined teleport locations, so that is what might be happening with you. Of course, there might be a way to change this.

Yes know i am use the same way like you in EPA , thx.

But just iam exating why the BIS Programers add a possibility i Den.
