Sorry I am being thick..Help needed please..

K just loaded Fallout 2 (UK Version Re-Released pack), now it installs fine plays fine, comes up under program menu in Windows XP all good...

However for teh life of me cant get teh patch to work...

I unzip it from the patch cd which comes with teh re-released pack and also have downloaded it as well.Now here is my problem..

Its meant to be a self extracting exe..When I double click on the exe*Which is a face in the icon* it comes up Fallout 2 cd needed, errr this is in my machine, there is also two other folders, master.dat and critter.dat, however these are empty..

Any ideas?

Windows XP Service pack1, Athlonxp2100,Geforce464mb all with the latest drivers..

The game works fine, just when I had the original games I remembered some game killing bugs, so wanted to make sure I had teh latest patch, and as you have read above me koinda fecked...

Any help or tips be superb, many thanks in advance,,

Make sure Fallour2.exe, master.dat, critter.dat and patch000.dat are all in the same directory, run Fallout2.exe

If it still fails, rename Fallout2.cfg (to something like test.cfg) and run the game again, it should work.

Cheers Red worked a treat, but gonna let ya into a little secret...

Early today I installed Fallout1, and errrr have been bunging the patch into that directory rather than Fallout 2 LOL..Told ya me was being thick..

Cant believe I never noticed the error command saying put Fallout1 cd in hehe.

Anyway worked a treat, game loaded, sound there and shows version 1.02 at end of intro
