I need the sound files for Half life 1, if they are available legally. Most importantly the weapon sound files. I'd get them myself, but my CD is on the other side of the country. Thanks.

Yes, but they're probably hidden in some file or something. I'd need to extract them.
Just checked my Steam folder and found them in the half life.gfc file. Use GFCscape, and look in root\valve\sounds\weapons, it's pretty straightforward.The Overseer said:

Just checked my HL1 cd, and there's no gfc files :s
Unless you know how to access the file called data1.cab (I sure don't) you'll need to install the game and then there's a file in [place you installed HL]\valve called pak0.pak. Just open it with GFCScape and from there it's root\sounds\weapons.
