Splash Screen Testing

First time out of the vault
Apparently, there doesn't seem to be a limit to the number of splash screens Fallout 2 will accept. I'm tinkering with the little addons from Team X's New Year's mod, and after renaming the originals from SPLASH1.RIX -> SPLASH5.RIX to SPLASH6.RIX -> SPLASH12.RIX, and then dropping new stuff from the Picture Patch in. So far, both the old screens and the new ones load normally.

However, after some additional tinkering, the original FO2 screens seem to come up if nothing is in ...\DATA\art\splash

Has anyone else played around with this stuff, or should I keep posting material of questionable importance?

I think it's interesting. Most of the stuff in FO2 work like that (ie: it checks for the next file, or for the next open entry or whatnot). Sadly though the PROs don't work like that... Basically none of the things with .LST files beside them do, and even sadder is the city number though TeamX came with a patch for that :D.

I've tried to put in fallout 2 the splash screens of the one, now
i have 11 splash screens, but somebody knows a program that
write in .RIX format ? , in the net i 've found only one, freeware, that reads easily that format, but no writing...
