(SPOILER) so what the heck is going on at the end

First time out of the vault
OK so I took the independent quest line.
I upgraded the bots but knocked off Mr house to use them for myself.

Yet the ending is the Legion attacking NCR at the dam with no buildup or explanation cutscene etc., you quest is just to get to the dam and power up the grid. But the bit I'm the most confused about is what the ---- happened to caesar? I go into his camp and kill off lanius, thats it. Where the ----is caesar. No explanation.

On a side note what a letdown of an ending sequence, its just like they phoned it in by copying the FO3 end sequence, as for the epic NCR vs legion at the dam, er 2 v 4 and repeat is not epic LOL cmon at least a couple of dozen on either side to give some illusion its a BTTLE not a SKIRMISH!?!?!
 
There is a more or less detailed explanation for Caesar, if you get more fame and do some quests for them.

[spoiler:78bd8b19c7]As far as I know, Caesar has a brain tumor and if he doesn't get help, he dies. This is the part where Lanius kicks in to lead the Legion.[/spoiler:78bd8b19c7]

I personally didn't played for the Legion yet, so I can't say much about it as well. But it's what I've read so far.
 
yah I read that from guides etc. but how come its not presented properly in-game?

seems like they were really rushing, the plot was unfolding BEAUTIFULLY up to then but suddenly once you pick sides its a blur and then the endgame credits.
 
You know those robots that were under the Fort? The ones you activated? Yeah, guess what happened after they woke up.
 
You could just grab the alien blaster at the north end of the map, walk into Cesar's camp and cap every one of those knuckle dragging junkie monkeys! That's what I did last night ... good stress reliever.
 
Caesar has Lanius explicitly to handle things like this.
