PlanetStalker.de have conducted a quick interview with Oleg at the 2004 Games Convention, and here's what VoodooExtreme is reporting on the matter:
There's a quick interview on Planet STALKER (in German) which chats with GSC from the 2004 Games Convention that reveals that co-op will likely be added in a patch after the game hits stores. In addition, there's word that they are uncertain about a demo, but if they do make one it will be after the game's release. Lastly, a beta test is scheduled to begin within the next 2 months.
Righto, didn't the demos come out before the game earlier ?

Nice . . This is truly a game I´m looking forward to. Being a fan of Fallout, promises of freedom of choise draw me in - no questions asked.

Well, I remember the demo for StarCraft being out a few months after the game's release. I wonder if they can make it as interesting to owners of the full game...

Max Payne shared the same fate also - as will Doom 3. There are several past cases.

It's a modern trend (modern being the last 5 years) to release the game first, count on hype to sell it at first, then release a demo to try to push the rest of the units. Thankfully, there are still exceptions, like the Rome: total war demo wich has just been released, and i'm downloading right now (i'm downloading from fileplanet, but i'm sure you can find them on any big download site)
