HomeLAN is reporting that THQ have issued a new press release which explains a new delay for Stalker:
The press release also has some news on upcoming games, including yet another delay for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, the long awaited first person shooter from GSC GameWorld. The game, which previously was planned for release in the first quarter of 2005, is now set for release in May of 2005.
Right. Let me guess, they had to figure out some new content because they've talked about the whole game in interviews?!

Hmm.. looks like everybody in the industry has a plan to use John Karmack's "when-it's-done" startegy as a good way of making fans wait longer, and in the end, getting higher sales.
Well, let's look at the bright side - at least I will have spare time to play Half-life 2.

Maybe they want to wait until most people have played through the games they got for christmas.

Or maybe they're a bunch of incompetent amateurs who bit off more than they could chew. So OK, screenshots look nice and press releases are bombastic - congratulations, THQ and GSC, your talent for creating tremendous hype is unmatched. Had you spent less time on advertising and more on development (you know, the process of creating the game), maybe you would now have a finished and published title, and not another piece of vaporware.

I bet the release date in May isn't final.
