The upcoming post apocalyptic first person shooter called Stalker has been delayed, here's what was said:<blockquote>"We have strategically scheduled S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Shadow of Chernobyl for PC, Pandemic Studios' Destroy All Humans for PlayStation 2 and Xbox, and The Punisher, from internal studio Volition, for PlayStation 2 and Xbox for the fiscal fourth quarter, which we believe to be an optimal window for establishing new intellectual properties. In addition, we plan to release WWE: Wrestlemania XXI for Xbox in the fourth quarter in conjunction with the WWE's Wrestlemania promotional push," said Farrell in a statement released before the call.</blockquote>Meh, wasn't this game supposed to be out by now ?

Oh fuck. Now it has the word "Shadow" in its name. That's a sure sign the game's gonna suck.

I'm sad now. I had hopes for it.
 
As long as it doesn't focus on consoles, it might actually turn out to be a decent FPS.
If nothing else, the graphics and the trading system seems decent.

EDIT:
Wait, they defined "hardcore PC gamer" (which the game is officially made for) as someone who "has spent all their time upgrading their system, buying a new CPU, graphics card, ..." -- yes, right.
Not for me. Maybe two or three years after it comes out, but not any sooner.

Not another game that tries to sell itself by advertising the graphics engine.
An engine is good if it is optimised. That doesn't mean it has to be pretty, it means it has to pull the best out of any given system.
Windows XP for example is all but optimized -- and it's not even a game.

Pirates would improve the game, no? Well, probably not as much as vampires or cyborgs with black leather coats, but still...
 
Radioactive Robotic Mutant Vampire Pirates would spice up the game for sure.

But they'll never put that in, not since the Mothers Against Radioactive Robotic Mutant Vampire Pirates in Video Games (MARRMVPiVG) started lobbying against the use of RRMVPs in video games.
 
When talking about the game, you should know the difference of STALKER and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is just some lousy piece of s... eh, game that doesn't have the license or permission of Boris Strugatski. So it is just pure imagination, having nothing to do with the original book Roadside Picnic (by Arkadi and Boris Strugatski). They just borrowed the idea.

But STALKER on the other hand is a roleplaying-game, done with permission from B.Strugatski, so it has the right setting and background etc. STALKER in done by a finnish RPG publisher http://www.burgergames.com/.
